Graphite Portrait Commission
Father & Son Christmas Gift - Update #1

Father & Son Christmas Commission
Update #1
I have built up the layers of this cuties skin and features slowly and am continuing to add and remove graphite as needed to create soft, subtle changes.  His hair is a little shocking right now but will be toned down in the next update.

I am focusing on building up the darks so that the lights can be better judged.  His features (eyes, nose, mouth) have been laid in and refined but will need to be refined further to be more natural and to better capture the likeness.  He is definitely taking shape!

I have set in the sheet lightly and will add more darks and highlights to give more shape and feel more like the baby is snuggled into the bed.  The father's shirt will be the darkest dark in the portrait and is being built up slowly to avoid shine and create an even dark shape.  Subtle highlights will then be lifted out once the level of darkness is achieved.
