Acrylic Adventures

Well this is an update on the abstract I posted below. I have been learning ALOT about acrylics, mostly what not to do & then fixing it up, so far I am ending up with paintings looking totally different than I had planned, but liking it :) The sheen looks a little hazy in the photo but is actually clear, except for the bottom & middle where I have added different colors after applying the gels.

I may do a few more tweaks on this one but will live with it for a bit and then decide.

Thanks Michelle :) Yes there are so many cool paint colors & mediums with acrylics, I had to try to restrain myself ;)

I like it too --wonderful texture! Would you give me some advice about working in acrylics? --I just inherited some acrylic paints and canvas from a from --and I would love to hear your experiments and feelings as I plunge into my new adventure!

thanks Billie :)

Thanks Meera. I am very new to acrylics, this is my 4th painting I think so not sure how much I know, mostly I am finding what not to do ;) Don't use too much water, use medium to clean your brush or thin paints, much better. Use gloss medium unless you want to tone down the pigments slightly of give a hazy effect. If you want your painting matte, just do a final layer of matte medium. If you can, take a workshop with the gold working artist, free paint so you can go crazy. Check out their site as there is a ton of good info on it too :) Hope that helps :)
