OK, I did a few minor tweaks and after staring at this for sometime have decided it is complete and named it Not Quite White :)There was a brief moment of sunshine so I took the painting outside to photograph so I think these colors are truer than the previous posts. The more I look at it the happier I am with the background, it has a nice velvety texture which I never quite seemed to achieve in the past so I must be learning something!

It looks great I like it :)
Tracey - thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving your comment! Of course, then I had to come here to check you out - and I'm impressed with your work. Good luck on your upcoming art walk.
thanks so much lorenabr :)
Thanks Deb...I will be back ;) I am looking forward to the Art Walk, I will post updates and hopefully so good photos of me and my fellow artist too :)
Love the complexity the petals on this piece. It's beautiful
Thanks so much Kate :)
Tracey, your iris is exquisite! I'd have gotten lost in all the twists and turns and probably given up. I checked out the FB link you posted. I like your painting the best by far.:)
lol thanks Billie for both the iris & FB comment! Yup I got lost many times :) It was such a nice break from fighting with my old acrylics though I didn't mind getting lost here & there ;)
Hi Tracey! Your iris finished beautifully with that soft, velvety blue... Whites are a lot of fun to paint, and it's certainly evident that you enjoyed this process!
Thanks so much for stopping by Char :) Yes, why did I fight it for so long, apparently I am very stubborn :)
what dedication and patience you have!!! Beautifully conceived and painted!!! Enjoyed seeing it as wip too. All the best!
Thanks so much Meera :) Dedicated & patient or compulsive & obsessed ;) Either way, it was really fun to paint :)
