This is a sketch of a mother and son that I have been commissioned to paint as a surprise gift by a friend of the mother's.
The sketch has been drawn on plain paper and I will then transfer it to the watercolor paper and then finesse it further before beginning to paint. Some of the lines and shapes are a bit off at this point as this first draft is just to get the landmarks down. Once the rough sketch has been transferred to the paper the details are more finely tuned.
The painting will be done as a monochromatic painting using sepia on an 18x24" sheet of Arches watercolor paper.
