Watercolor Painting - Peeling Paint Update #3
Labels: architectural detail, demo, watercolor building
My portfolio consists of highly realistic interpretations of the model. Although I focus on realism, my goal is not to imitate the reference material used but to obtain a truthful and accurate depiction of the subject. A strong likeness happens naturally during the drawing process. My portfolio mainly consists of custom commission graphite & charcoal and watercolor portraits drawn from my client's family photos of a favorite pet, baby, child or wedding portrait.

These architectural paintings you're doing are really excellent, Tracey! The diagonal perspective gives them added impact. Perspective scares me to death. I've never been able to conquer it.
Btw, the tip you gave me on using the masque pen worked. Thank you!
Thanks so much Billie, they have been alot of fun to paint as well. Very different from figures & portraits so lots of room to explore the medium :)
Lol, I think the trick is not to think! I just got so excited when I so all of the beautiful buildings in Quebec & Montreal that I took a zillion photos and got luck with a few ;)
Good to hear about the masque pen, it takes a bit of getting used to but anything that saves me having to clean something is worth the effort in my books!
